Great article Mathew. General Manager and Head Coach are only two of the big decisions that are going to be made.

Love Cook but it's a business and too many teams can get the same production week to week from 2 or 3 rbs who cumulatively will likely cost less and as a group will probably be more injury resistant than the one man show we've seen .... outside the Peterson era my favorite years at rb were the combo of asiata, McKinnon and Murray

No way you move on from your best offensive player when you're still trying to make a run for the superbowl. Just use him differently. Stop running inside all the time. Throw him the ball 8-10 times per game and give him 10 Carries. The guy is a freak athlete who has Marshall Faulk like gifts and we have been running him like he's AP. Mattison is good but does not have the vision that Cook does. Get a great offensive mind calling the plays and you'll see him thrive in an offense that uses him in the passing game.

I wouldn't go quite as far as calling him Marshall Faulk... he caught 80+ passes 5 years in a row...but I would say their failure to make him more of a passing game is something that a new coach could try to do

Is someone talking about moving on from JJ?

Hard to move on from Cook....But 9mm is a lot of savings... Would definitely like to lower his workload about 10-15% though....
