Interesting article Paul! Explained so a 68 yr old could grasp the charts. If you keep this up we might forget about Sam and the other guy ..... Mark Caller?? Something like that. Ha Ha!

Can't forget about them too quick, they're the ones signing my checks!

Good discussion and analysis. It is fun thinking about trading and going for a new QB. When do you think we’ll know what the Vikings will do with Cousins? And what will be the first sign that they will stick with Cousins?

First big benchmark will be O'Connell's press conference. Will be interesting to hear him talk about Cousins.

I think the Vikings will likely try to keep it very quiet in what they want to do with him. They lose leverage if they make it known they want to move on from Cousins. I think if you see win-now type free agency signings, that would be a sign they are moving forward with Cousins, at least for next year.

Well done, Paul. Why do you think PFF is down on Willis when other sites aren’t?

Thanks, Rob! PFF isn't as down on him as you might think. They have him ranked No. 56, Draft Network has him No. 49 and Bleacher Report has him No. 87. He's definitely ranked higher elsewhere, but PFF isn't the only skeptic. I think he's definitely going to be a name that will rise given his athletic ability. He's going to impress at the combine and his game is going to continue to grow on teams and analysts. It's very easy to talk yourself into his skill set. Heck, I have. He's my favorite of all the QBs right now.

As for reasons PFF specifically might be down on him, his turnover worthy play percentage was among the worst in college football. His pocket presence is still an issue and his accuracy is a bit questionable. And his competition wasn't great.

Hi Paul any idea which quadrant Mond was in the QB analysis?

Expand full comment

I don't. The data used for the analysis is PFF data that the public doesn't have access to, so I can't check it. However, looking through Mond's pre-draft grades and profile, he didn't handle pressure well. He was very very good without pressure. So that would make me believe he is not part of that top right quadrant. But, I can't give you a concrete answer on that.

Thanks... He does not handle pressure well sadly says the most important thing....
