Per your comment that "I’m amazed at the number of fans who want [to turn the page,]" I think this is a common reaction to vikings fans that are between, say, 50 and 25 years old. Because here's the thing, Vikings fans have spent a significant length of years living in the shadow of a division rival that always had franchise QBs, such that it begins to feel that we'll never take the leap unless we have our own. Older Vikings fans had Fran, and therefore some may not feel that ache of never having one (or may have concluded that a franchise QB isn't the panache to get us over the hump), and younger fans who didn't live through the Favre-to-Rodgers transition don't feel the same drive of "unless we have a franchise QB then we are just spinning our wheels." Conversely, because those Vikings fans in our 30s and 40s have lived through a bizarre amount of QBs stepping through and having momentary success, from Moon to Johnson to Cunningham to Jeff George back to Johnson to Frerotte to Favre to Bradford to Keenum and now to Kirk (does any team have a longer list of QBs with winning records over the last 30 years?), it feels like the same old ineffective song and dance to do it again. Probably the closest we had was Daunte, and Daunte was fun as hell, but Daunte was 38-42 as a Viking and was never the same when Randy wasn't on the field to terrify defenses.

All that is to say, when confronted with the idea of "do you want to see if you can get lucky again with another decent team or do you want to try a different iteration," it makes sense that this fandom that has seen 30 straight years of (mostly) trying to get lucky with a slightly different iteration would be itching for a truly bold change of direction (particularly one that doesn't include signing a veteran QB, which seems to be the only "bold" action the team has made in recent decades).

After both Purdy and Johnson went down the NFC Championship game was unwatchable. Expand the rosters to let teams dress 4 qb's on game days for crying out loud.
